Screw Cap Cuvettes

0.1–10 mm path length fully sealed quartz screw cap cuvettes with M6 / M7 / M10 PTFE threads — ideal for anaerobic, volatile-sample and long-duration experiments. Short-path 0.1–5 mm plus standard 10 mm options. Optical contact one-piece molding process (premium; comparable to German original imports).

Quartz Screw Cap Cuvettes — Fully Sealed for Anaerobic & Volatile Samples

For air-sensitive, volatile or hazardous samples, Scuvette's screw cap cuvettes provide a fully sealed 10 mm quartz cell with M10 or M12 PTFE-thread caps. The screw cap design prevents evaporation and contamination during long experiments, making these cells the standard choice for anaerobic, kinetic and high-temperature work.

Choose two-way or four-way (four polished windows) configurations, ordinary or high-precision grades, and square or round bottoms to match your spectrophotometer. Replacement PTFE caps are available separately. For the flow equivalent, see our sealed flow cuvettes with threaded connectors.

Short Path-Length Screw Cap Cells (0.1–5 mm)

0.1–5 mm fully sealed screw cap cells (M6 / M7 / M10 PTFE thread) for anaerobic, volatile and high-concentration samples.

Screw Cap Cuvettes — Frequently Asked Questions

What is a screw cap cuvette used for?

A screw cap cuvette has a threaded (usually M10 or M12) PTFE cap that seals the cell to prevent evaporation and contamination during long scans, heating or shaking. It is ideal for kinetics and incubation runs. See cap options.

Do screw cap cuvettes leak or evaporate?

When the PTFE cap is tightened it forms a leak-proof seal; the sealed design stops solvent loss even at 37°C incubations. Solvent compatibility.

What thread size do screw cap cuvettes use?

Most use M10 or M12 threaded necks. Match the cap to your cell thread to avoid cross-threading. Cap fitting guide.

Screw cap vs standard open-top cuvette?

Open-top cells fill and rinse faster; screw cap cells add sealing for evaporation-sensitive runs. 10 mm open-top cell.

Are screw cap cuvettes UV grade?

Yes — made from JGS1 fused silica transmitting 190–2500 nm, the same as open-top quartz cells. About UV cutoff.

Can I use a screw cap cuvette for fluorescence?

Only if it has clear (not blackened) windows on all four sides; black-walled screw cells are for absorbance only. Fluorescence cuvettes.

How do I clean a screw cap cuvette?

Remove the cap, rinse with DI water and mild detergent, use 1:1 HCl for organics, then isopropanol and air dry; clean the PTFE cap separately. Cleaning protocol.
