Short path cells (0.1-5 mm) follow the Beer-Lambert law A = εcl: a shorter path gives lower absorbance for the same concentration, so you can measure concentrated or strongly absorbing samples directly without dilution. Chamber volumes range from 35 µL to 1.75 mL depending on the path length.
M6, M7 and M10 refer to the thread diameter of the cap. M10 is the most common for standard 10 mm cuvette holders and accessories, while M6 and M7 fit more compact holders and adapters - see the screw cap cuvette family. Optical path and material quality are identical across threads.
Fill slowly from the bottom with a pipette, tilting the cell about 45° so liquid wicks in without trapping bubbles. Rinse with deionized water and isopropanol between samples and air-dry. For stubborn residues follow the cuvette care guide.
