JGS3 (Infrasil-type) quartz transmits from about 260 nm well into the mid-infrared beyond 3500 nm - far wider than standard UV quartz (JGS1, 190-2500 nm). This four-way 10 mm IR cell is therefore the right choice for NIR and IR spectroscopy where OH-free material and deep IR transmission matter.
Standard UV cuvettes use JGS1 fused silica and absorb strongly beyond about 2500 nm. If your measurement extends into the near- or mid-IR (260-3500 nm), you need JGS3 infrared quartz. For UV-only work JGS1 is sufficient and more economical - see the UV-grade 10 mm screw cap cuvette.
Yes. The M10 PTFE solid cap provides airtight sealing for volatile or moisture-sensitive samples, and the JGS3 quartz body resists all common laboratory solvents and dilute acids (except hydrofluoric acid), making it suitable for both static and long-duration IR measurements.
